The Sandpoint event will begin on Saturday, 25 September 2021. Email your poems, artwork, MP3 music files, or photographs that will be displayed on the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force website to share with our community and the world in an online gallery exhibit. Your work will also be featured on the 100,000 POETS FOR CHANGE website. Send original poems, MP3 files, or artwork—as a JPEG please—to losthorsepress@mindspring.com by Saturday, 25 September 2021. We look forward to presenting your ideas for positive change in the world, in your community, in your lives.

What kind of change are we talking about? The first order of change is for poets, writers, musicians, artists—everyone!—to get together to create and perform, educate and demonstrate, simultaneously, in conjunction with other communities around the world. This will change how we see our local community and the global community. We have all become incredibly alienated in recent years. We hardly know our neighbors down the street let alone our creative allies who live and share our concerns in other countries. We need to feel this kind of local and global solidarity again. Let’s make it happen in our little corner of the world.

100,000 POETS FOR CHANGE, founded in Sonoma County, California in 2011, has become an annual event in which poets, musicians, and artists around the world come together to call for environmental, social, political, and personal change. On 25 September 2021, more than 300 concerts, readings, workshops, flash mobs, parades, and demonstrations will take place in more than 120 countries around the world. 100,000 Poets for Change’s founders, Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion, have stated that peace and sustainability “. . . are major concerns worldwide and the guiding principles for this global event.” All participants are hoping, through their actions and events, to seize and redirect the political and social dialogue of the day and turn the narrative of civilization towards peace and sustainability. A common ground is built through this global compilation of local stories, which is how we create a true narrative for discourse to inform the future.

Submit your original poems, art, or music videos for Sandpoint’s online showcase before 25 September 2021. We look forward to hearing your thoughts for supportive and constructive change! Need more info? Contact Lost Horse Press at losthorsepress@mindspring.com.
